Short: CDTV Music-Disk Revision 2025 Author: Void Uploader: punivoid protonmail com (Puni) Type: demo/sound Version: 1.0 Architecture: m68k-amigaos >= 1.3.0 Distribution: Aminet [ Overview ] "90s Rewind" is a musicdisc demo especially designed for the Commodore Amiga CDTV and as such its most distinctive feature is the use of Compact Disc music. [ System requirements ] A minimum of a PAL Commodore Amiga CDTV or A570 with: - Motorola 68000 cpu - OCS chipset - 512 KB of chip memory In theory the demo might also run on CD32 and on any CD-ROM based Amiga given that the CD file system supports emulation of CDTV / CD32. Best experienced with the CDTV connected to a Hi-Fi / audio speakers. [ How to run ] - Unpack the archive - Software emulator (eg WinUAE): mount the .cue file as a CD image - Real hardware: burn the .cue file to a physical CD-R disc, boot your system from that CD [ Mouse controls ] The demo runs in autoplay mode and can be operated via the remote controller or a mouse: - click the right mouse button to play the next track - click the left mouse button to exit [ Background information ] The demo is a tribute to the Compact Disc technology and its integration into the Amiga line of computers. The authors intended to revive the vibes of the late 80s / early 90s. Last but not least, many thanks to C= director Gail Wellington, mother of CDTV. [ Tech notes ] Because of the latency and the indeterminacy of the CD subsystem of the CDTV, updating the screen at a decent framerate is a challenge. Anyway, we might be able to improve the framerate in the future and then release an enhanced version or sequel, so stay tuned.
