Short: Correct number of cylinders for big HDDs Author: thomas-rapp@web.de (Thomas Rapp) Uploader: Thomas Rapp Type: disk/misc Version: 1.1 Architecture: m68k-amigaos >= 2.0.4 When partitioning a large hard drive (bigger than 8 GB), HDToolbox sometimes does not read the correct number of cylinders when installing the drive. If you don't recognise this at once and install it with the too small size, there is no way to change your mistake afterwards without wiping all partitions. Well, now there is. This program will read the real disk size and allows to correct the number of cylinders without deleting any partition. It also allows to reduce the number of cylinders so that the drive looks smaller than 4 GB, so you can use it with OS 3.1 and below without any risk. Installation: copy it to wherever you want Usage: just run it. The GUI should be self-explaining and I made it as fool-proof as I could. Disclaimer: the program is provided as-is.
