This is a direct port of the text-based Instant-Message client "tmsnc"
to the Amiga using GNU C and the ncurses and gnutls libraries.
"tmsnc" is open source software distributed under the IR Public Domain
License (see file COPYING in the archive).

It supports the current MSN Messenger/Windows Live Messenger protocol and allows
you to communicate with other users of MSN Messenger or alternative clients like
tmsnc.

If you do not yet have one, to register an MSN account, you can use the URL

https://accountservices.passport.net/ppnetworkhome.srf

As of January 2008 it was possible to register an account using
IBrowse 2.3 as www-browser. Your username in MSN Messenger can be
your existing eMail-Address.

- a TCP stack such as AmiTCP, Genesis, Miami


Installation:
-------------

To start the client, the following script is provided: startscript_tmsnc It sets
the correct stack-size and make required assigns for the ncurses-display.

It also creates a fake /dev/random device, since gnutls needs this.
If your ixemul installation provides for a genuine /dev/random, skip
this step.

If you're receiving error messages about the Terminal-type you use not
being supported, please consult the documentation of the ncurses-library
on Aminet.

The client's configuration will be saved in the home directory provided
for the current user of your TCP stack (For AmiTCP this is in db/passwd).


Known Bugs:
-----------

- Login: Username does not appear on screen as you type it (is invisible like
the password).

- Graphical errors, Menus remain visible

- Redraw and Exit shows an Ixemul error

Be warned, proprietary Instant Messenger protocols like MSN change frequently,
and it's likely this client - working as of January 2008 - might not work for a
long time.
