Version: 1.0

A lot of people have complained about the ugliness of the icons that come
with the Emplant; some people have actually tried to do something about
it. Well today I join that group.

Standard Icons:

Enclosed you will find 4 color replacements for most of the icons that came
with the EMPLANT. (I'll be working on the rest soon). Using only 4 colors
(the standard Workbench 2.0+ colors); they'll look good on everybody's
Workbench. Sorry, no "MagicWorkbench" icons here. The icons are all
duel image

Using them is simple enough; though I would recommend you load then into
"IconEdit" and then "save as" out to your original icons so as to not lose
any "tooltypes" you may have set. MAKE A NOTE OF THE "TOOLTYPES"
SO YOU CAN VERIFY THAT THEY HAVEN'T BEEN MODIFIED. Having said that
these icons don't appear to have any "tooltypes" associated with
them.

Also, they'll look best on a 1x1 screen (or the closet thing). They'll look
slightly elongated an any screen that deviates greatly from 1x1
(like High-reas 600x200) Sorry, but they were designed with my Workbench
screen in mind.

"NewIcons":

I have included 2 IFF files of all the icons in beautiful full color (At least
I think they look beautiful), for those that use "NewIcons". The two files are
as follows:

1. NewEMP_1: A standard high-res-lace IFF file.

2. NewEMP_2: A 1x1, 640x480 Productivity IFF file.

"NewIcons" comes with a utility called "InjectBrush" that will allow you to
convert a brush to a "NewIcon" icon. Two things to consider though:

1. The icons do use the standard "NewIcons" palette; though I may have
changed a color or two.

2. The icons are bigger that the 36x40 recommended in the "NewIcons" docs.
Though I read in another program that "NewIcons" allows icons up to 96x96 in
size (Please don't quote me on that figure).

Each "NewIcons" brush comes in pairs and matches the original 4 color icons.
First install the standard 4 color icons and then load the appropriate IFF
file into a paint program. You will notice that each image pair is named; and
each image is surrounded by a ugly Magenta(?) border. Pick up everything
INSIDE that border as a brush; and save them out as pairs. Name them
accordingly to make it easier for yourself when you go and use "InjectBrush"

Read the documentation for "InjectBrush" for how to proceed from here. If
"InjectBrush" complains about the size or the palette; try the FORCE option
for "InjectBrush" as mentioned in the documentation.

Hopefully this will all work, if so then do like the shampoo bottle says;
"repeat". If it doesn't; well then I guess you'll have to just admire the
pictures and dream of what could have been. :)

Notice: I'd like to know whether it worked or didn't. So if you bother to try
to install the "NewIcons" version; please let me know how it went.

IN CONCLUSION

If you are reading this now, then I can safety assume that you've had a
chance to look at the icons. Well folks; I need feed-back. Whether you love
them, or hated them; I want to know what you think. Do you have a question?
E-mail me. Do you have a problem? Do the same. You'll find my e-mail
address not far from this sentence. Do you have some icons you want done?
Well just ask; I don't bite.
